What is counselling and psychotherapy?

Counselling and psychotherapy is a proven therapeutic process that allows a person to make positive shifts in their thinking, feeling and behaving that help to reduce suffering.

Counselling and psychotherapy is not about being told what to do,  rather clients are guided to explore issues in the right conditions, where a trained professional can apply certain models and theories to uncover deep roots that help to bring about long-lasting change.

At Nottingham Counselling Therapy we offer a variety of ways to do therapy to suit different needs either – face-to-face, online, over the telephone or in a group setting.

Following your initial consultation, counselling and psychotherapy commences at a regular time and day every week. There tends to be a review after a few agreed sessions to reevaluate your progress and to offer further sessions or work towards a positive ending.
